Why are you inspired to be of service in the world?
Because of the sheer feeling of the energy in the air when empowered and revolutionary individuals join together to create change.
Because I know that even the smallest glimpse of freedom allows individuals to live a lifetime.
Because I know what it is like to be a part of an oppressed group of people.
Because anyone's injustice is everyone's injustice and on this Human journey, our spirits depend on eachother.
About Me:
A part of me is always dancing, flowing with the tides, thinking, questioning, being the five year old who constantly asks "why?" and really wanting the answer.
Always dreaming, organizing believing that anything can happen, never giving up hope, rarely disheartened, holding to the journey, finding beauty in the struggle.
Seeking to support, to uplift, to challenge, to feel, to dance in the fire surrounded by friends.
A picture of me in my mother's arms at my first rally only months old rests as a prized possesion upon my wall. Ive been called to the feeling of God long before I started aknowledging my engagement in yoga.
Geographical Location:
Currently LA, but moving to NYC in Aug.
Tell us about any Seva Projects that you are already involved in...
I have a long background of community organizing, political work, social change work, so on and so forth. I just completed my first teacher training and want to use that in collaboration with the MSW and I am pursuing to serve the world, specifically activists challenging their own personal demons and thus working to heal the gears of this beautiful social change machine.

Rachael, you sound amazing. Open. Authentic. I'm now just doing yaga with Sita Werner on Abbott Kinney and Venice Blvd. on Tuesdays. I'm in flux between ecstacy at the world today out my window, and dispair at the news.

Namaste Rachel,
Keep in touch! Let me know when your coming, if your planning to teach, what your training is and if you need some refferences. Have you ever lived in NY?

Hey Rachael--I never thought people would ever actually read that bio, so thank you for playing along. Hopefully we can meet up when you're in NYC. Best of luck with the move.
