We are excited to officially announce the Seva Challenge 2009 Bare Witness: African Humanitarian Tour. The challenge is similar to the Cambodian Challenge, we are still asking participants to raise $20,000 each, only this year we will travel to sub-Saharan Africa (Uganda) where approximately 42 million children do not have access to education, clean water or healthy food.
The trip will be led by Seane and Suzanne and will include daily yoga, hands on work building schools, sustainable farms and working with local artisans. We are working out the final details, but the trip will include in-depth collaboration with organizations that are working to eradicate the tremendous financial and health crises that exist in Africa.
We will also continue to have bi-monthly phone calls and to support each of you as much as possible. The biggest change in the challenge is the deadline, which will now be November 15, 2009. The dates of the journey are February 7 – 19, 2010. If you are interested, please go to our website and sign your letter of intention. Our first conference call with Seane, Suzanne and Annalise will be at 9a (PST) on Friday, January 23rd. Thereafter, the calls will take place at 9a (PST) on the first Wednesday of every month and at 3p (PST) on the third Wednesday of every month. To learn more about the challenge, click here.
